Introduction to FPOSn Blog site
- Web site vs Blog site: A web site is somewhat static and from the PIC region it is not possible to purchase a domain (www) easily. Blog sites (Blogspot.com and Wordpress.com) are freely available and can be used to have static or dynamic ‘webpages’. Wordpress has limitations in the free version. Blogger (Blogspot.com) has more features in the free version.
- A ‘Blogs site’ can have multiple ‘Blog Pages’
which are listed in the ‘homepage’. Blog Pages are created by the Admin of the
site. Each Page can have posts which can be created by permitted viewers. All viewers
can also add comments to the posts in pages.
Blog Site >> Pages >> Posts >> Comments. - FPOSn (Fiji and Pacific Oral Surgeons Network) registered on Blogger.com was mainly created to improve the knowledge of PGDOS and MOS graduates in PICs. This initiative has following two blog sites:
This site is for general viewing by anyone interested FPOSn activities. This will host details on PGDOS and MOS gradates in PICs and their CME update activities as well.
This site is only accessible for members (PGDOS and MOS graduates) to have clinical discussions away from social media. Members will be sharing resources (images and files) in their own google drives for the discussion, referral of cases and specific clinical updates.
