Welcome to FPOSn

This Blog page titled Fiji and Pacific small islands Oral Surgeons Network (FPOSn) aims to facilitate professional development of the Oral Surgeons and junior surgeons in Pacific Small Island Countries (PICs) graduated with Postgraduate Diploma and Master of Oral Surgery qualifications from Fiji National University since 2014. 

 From 2014 to 2019, these two programmes have produced twenty graduates with PGD-OS and two with MOS across nine Pacific Island countries (PICs). Majority of these trainees were selected by the Ministry of Health in their respective countries.

There is evidence that these graduates have started to practice and helped to improve the standard of oral surgical care services in their respective home countries. In addition, some PICs have annual visitations by Oral Maxillofacial surgeons who provide services in country and are ably assisted by the graduates.

This  page will be administered by me as their programme coordinator and mentor. Dr Inosi Salababa and Dr Sailasa Luvunakoro from Fiji MOH will be other two resource persons.

Introduction to FPOSn Blog site

        Web site vs Blog site:   A web site is somewhat static and from the PIC region it is not possible to purchase a domain (www) easily. Blog sites (Blogspot.com and Wordpress.com) are freely available and can be used to have static or dynamic ‘webpages’. Wordpress has limitations in the free version. Blogger (Blogspot.com) has more features in the free version. A ‘Blogs site’ can have multiple ‘Blog Pages’ which are listed in the ‘homepage’. Blog Pages are created by the Admin of the site. Each Page can have posts which can be created by permitted viewers. All viewers can also add comments to the posts in pages. Blog Site >> Pages >> Posts >> Comments.
